NJ Audubon Employee and Volunteer Art Show
New Jersey Audubon's Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville, NJ, United StatesThe NJ Audubon Employee and Volunteer Art Show will be opening a the Wayrick Wildlife Art Gallery, located on the 2nd floor of the Scherman Hoffman building. Our volunteers and employees will be displaying their latest and favorite wildlife and natural landscapes artwork between October 7, 2023, and January 31, 2024. Light refreshments will be served on October 7 between 12:30pm and 3pm. The Art Gallery is open: Thursday-Saturday 9am – 5pm Sunday 12 noon – 5pm. Cost: FREE Location: Wayrick Wildlife Art Gallery on the second floor of the Scherman Hoffman Sanctuary, 11 Hardscrabble Rd. in Bernardsville.
NJ Audubon: Easy Native Plant Propagation
Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary 11 Hardscrabble Rd, Bernardsville, NJ, United StatesLed by Stephanie Punnett, Program Director Residential landscapes are becoming increasingly important for the survival of native pollinators and other wildlife and can be home for both humans and wildlife. In this workshop we’ll show you how to create a wildlife garden and a simple way to start native plants from seed. You can make up to five mini-greenhouses from repurposed materials and plant your choice of over twenty species of native plant seeds. As a bonus, make a pollinator home for native bees from recycled materials for your backyard. All materials provided. One person per ticket. Ticket sale ends 01/18 at 4:00 PM. NJ Audubon: Count the Birds for the Great Backyard Bird Count
New Jersey Audubon's Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville, NJ, United StatesJoin Dorothy Smullen, Teacher Naturalist, to understand how to count birds in your own backyard for this citizen science program established in 1998 by National Audubon Society and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. We will count the birds at the bird feeding station in front of the Welcome Center/Nature Store and report our results. While you’re here you can make a pinecone bird feeder. Stop in any time for this FREE program. Loaner binoculars will be available as we count the birds at the Scherman Hoffman feeders. Reserve your spot!
