New Jersey Audubon's Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville, NJ, United StatesEnjoy a quiet morning here at the Sanctuary walking the trails with an NJ Audubon staff or Associate Naturalist. These walks are informal and informative: birds, trees, tracks, wildflowers, reptiles, and amphibians are a few of nature’s wonders waiting for us to discover. The walks are cancelled if there is snow, rain, or weather warnings. There will be no walk 4/4, 5/2. 5/9, and 5/23. COST: Free for members, $5 nonmembers. Interested in becoming a member? Join us for a fun and informal hike where you'll learn to identify trees even in the chilly winter months! This in-person adventure is perfect for nature lovers and curious minds alike. Bundle up, bring your keen eyes, and get ready to discover the hidden secrets of the forest this winter. It's a great way to enjoy the outdoors and boost your tree-ID skills. NJ Audubon: Saturday Early Spring Hike
New Jersey Audubon's Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville, NJ, United StatesLed by Sue Predl, Nature Store Assistant Join Sue for a guided two-mile nature hike to enjoy the trees, birds, and plant life at Scherman Hoffman Nature Sanctuary. The trails we hike will vary, but we can guarantee beautiful views of our sanctuary. Walking time is flexible but will be approximately 2 hours. Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes; be prepared to walk on uneven ground and up hills. The hike will go rain or shine. Registration required at Eventbrite by 3/14 at 12:00 PM. Led by Angus Macaulay, Teacher Naturalist Sundays March 22, April 12, and May 3, World Series of Birding event Saturday, May 9 Attention young birders! Do you want to be a part of the largest and most prestigious birding competition in the country? Here is the perfect opportunity. Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary will be host to the World Series of Birding Youth Development Team. Join Mr. Angus for a mix of birding, teamwork, and fun. The team will meet for three practice sessions on March 22, April 12, and May 3, and a full day of birding on competition day (May 9). Registration is limited to six participants ages 10 to 16. Nature Center of Cape May 1600 Delaware Avenue, Cape May, NJ, United StatesSpring has sprung! All around us, the colors of the rainbow are popping up in nature! Can you collect them all? During our Rainbow Roundup Nature Walk, we will take a gentle stroll around the Nature Center of Cape May trails in search of all the colors of spring. We will identify the first blooms of the season, search for signs of wildlife, and collect a few natural treasures along the way. Can you find all the colors of the rainbow? This program is best suited for children 10 and younger. Kids under 2 are free. Important note: This is not a drop-off program; adults must accompany children. Participation is limited. Pre-registration is required. COST: Children $8, Adults $12 IMPORTANT INFORMATION: We may walk up to a mile, over generally level surfaces. Some surfaces may be muddy or uneven.
