Embrace the beauty of nature as we mark the shortest day of the year and welcome the return of longer days. Immerse yourself in the serene surroundings of the sanctuary and connect with the rhythms of the natural world. We will be lighting our bonfire, burning our intentions for the new year, and meditating through our solstice spiral. Don't miss out on this special occasion to embrace the spirit of the season. NJ Audubon: Saturday Winter Walk
New Jersey Audubon's Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville, NJ, United StatesJoin Sue for a guided two-mile nature hike and enjoy the trees, birds, and plant life at Scherman Hoffman Nature Sanctuary. The trails we hike will vary, but we can guarantee beautiful views of our sanctuary. Walking time is flexible but will be no longer than 2 hours. Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes; be prepared to walk on uneven ground and up hills in cold weather. The hike will go rain or shine. We will meet at the Nature Store at the Visitor Center at 2:00 PM. Registration required by 12:00 PM the day before the walk. COST: Free for members, $5 nonmembers. Interested in becoming a member? Come and experience the magic of maple syrup with us! This program is intended for families and adults, it is not a drop-off children's program. This activity includes a naturalist-led walk through the nature sanctuary and is a drop-in program, the boil will be taking place throughout the 3-hour window.
