Sunday Morning at Turkey Point
Turkey Point 914970 Turkey Point Road, Port Norris, NJ, United StatesJoin CMBO naturalists and walk New Jersey's miracle mile for an exciting array of winter birds! We’ll explore the Glades Wildlife Refuge and Dividing Creek to enjoy wintering raptors, including lots of Bald Eagles, and wintering shorebirds, gulls and ducks, including Green-winged Teal, Bufflehead, Hooded Mergansers, Common Mergansers and Bonaparte’s Gulls. We may walk up to 1.5 miles, over generally level, sometimes muddy or sandy terrain. Some trips involve walks over jetties. COST: $12 members, $18 nonmembers. PREREGISTRATION REQUIRED. Go With the Flow Yoga

Creative Hands Club: Upcycled Whimsical Birds
Nature Center of Cape May 1600 Delaware Avenue, Cape May, NJ, United StatesJoin West Cape May artist Carla Schaeffer for a fun filled evening of recycling and reusing! We'll make colorful and whimsical birds in flight by cutting apart aluminum cans, making a template, and marking and cutting the components of the bird before piecing them together. Learn new skills for upcycling aluminum cans, and take home one (or more) one of a kind bird(s)! Instructor will have beer cans on hand, but if you have a preference for soda or any special can, bring them with you to class (you will need 4 cans per bird). Pre-registration is required. NJ Audubon Learning the Birds by Song Series
New Jersey Audubon's Scherman Hoffman Wildlife Sanctuary 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville, NJ, United StatesLed by Randy Little, Associate Naturalist For beginners and those with some experience, this birding-by-ear series will improve your bird identification skills. More often than not, birds are heard before they are seen (if seen at all!) Learning their songs will add another dimension to your birdwatching. Randy Little is a former NJA board member and long-time NJA volunteer. Randy learned birding as a youngster under the wings of the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology’s founders and is a master at recording bird songs for the Cornell Lab. This series will begin Wednesday March 6 and continue every Wednesday evening until April 10. March 6 & 13 classes will cover the winter resident birds, March 20 & 27 classes will cover the early migrant birds, and April 3 & 10 classes will cover the summer resident birds. After the end of the series participants may join Randy on Saturday morning, April 13 for a free, outdoor, “practical hands-on” Learning the Birds by Song walk at the Sanctuary. Registration and fee are per class. You must pre-register for each class you wish to attend. Ticket sale for each class ends at 4:00 PM on the day of the class.
