Join us at Scherman Hoffman for spring break fun! Each themed day will be filled with super fun Teacher/naturalist led activities and adventures in the great outdoors. Sign up for one or more days. Be sure to pack a lunch. For youth ages 6 to 9 years. COST: $85.00 per day. SCHEDULE: 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day Monday, April 1 - Natural Art - Create nature inspired art. Tuesday, April 2 – Enchanted World - Make a fairy house or a gnome home to take home. Wednesday, April 3 – Home Sweet Home - Make and take home some "home sweet homes" for the animals. Thursday, April 4 – Enchanted Woodlands - Make a fairy house or a gnome home for the fairies and gnomes in our Enchanted Forest. Friday, April 5 – Wetland Adventure - Explore the ponds and the Passaic River. Location: 11 Hardscrabble Road, Bernardsville, NJ Registration required at Eventbrite by March 29 at 9:00 AM. This is an opportunity to share your thoughts and ideas 1:1 or in a small group setting. Share your history, involvement, and love of the Sanctuary, give input and feedback regarding the center and get your thoughts and ideas heard. Higbee Beach Birding
Higbee Beach WMA NJ, United StatesJoin CMBO naturalists for this 2-hour walk around the Higbee Beach Wildlife Management Area! Famous for migration, we'll search for Blue Grosbeaks, Brown Thrashers, Yellow-breasted Chats, Yellow Warblers and White-eyed Vireos. All arrive in April to breed here. Many spring warblers and other songbirds migrate through. PREREGISTRATION REQUIRED. COST: $8 members, $12 nonmembers. Raritan Bay Waterfront Park
Raritan Bay Waterfront Park 201 John T O'Leary Boulevard, South Amboy, NJ, United StatesEarly spring birding for loons, grebes, gulls, & migrants. If winds are right, we could have a modest hawk flight. Raritan Bay Waterfront Park has long been known as a concentration point for Bonaparte's Gulls in spring. If we're lucky a Little Gull or Black-headed Gull could be among them. The bay usually hosts a variety of waterbirds in early spring and some landbird migrants could be around. Once you enter the park, go north and park at the end of the lot close to the bay. Be prepared for easy walking for 3 hours. Restrooms on site. Led by Scott Barnes and Hank Burk.
