Winter Shelter Building
Learn about different types of shelters built for outdoor survival purposes and build your own using just sticks and leaves! Head outside and join us on the trails to look for signs of wildlife and learn about how animals keep themselves warm in the winter. Participants will then use this knowledge to build their own natural debris shelter that could keep us safe and protected in cold temperatures! This family program is suited for children 3+ with parent supervision.
COST: $10 members / $12 nonmembers
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- Dress for the weather as we may head outdoors.
- Closed-toe shoes required.
Please note that Lorrimer’s building facilities will be going under construction sometime during the fall and winter. If this leads to cancelled programming, we will refund your order completely and let you know as soon as possible about these cancellations.
CANCELLATION: NJ Audubon’s programs require a minimum number of registrants to run. If we cancel, due to lack of participation, severe weather, or unforeseen circumstances, all participants will be notified as soon as possible and are eligible for a full refund. Participants may cancel without penalty if greater than 48 hours in advance. Sorry, no refund for cancellations less than 48 hours in advance unless due to health emergencies; however, registrations can be transferred to another program in the future.
