Fall Migrants at the Rea Farm – September 20, 2025

Leaders: Kathy & Roger Horn, Holly & Mark Lemieux, Bernie Hodgdon

Temp: 67°F

Winds: NE 10 mph

Weather Conditions: sunny

Hawks ruled at the Rea Farm today, with a decent variety and number. There were Cooper’s and Sharp-shinned Hawks, Broad-wings, Osprey, Red-shouldered Hawks, American Kestrels and Merlin’s. Early on, there were many migrating Northern Flickers and a fairly close Common Loon, still in pretty good breeding plumage, was a pleasure to see. We almost stepped on a Black Rat Snake curled up on a sunny edge and it showed its displeasure with that!
