Spring Birding at Garrett Family Preserve – May 23, 2026

Leaders: Kathy & Roger Horn, Bernie Hodgdon, Dennis McKane, Mark Lemieux

Temp: 53° F

Winds: E 20 mph

Weather Conditions: cloudy

Birds were hunkered down in this morning’s windy drizzle but despite the inclement weather, Eastern Kingbirds were hawking insects over the meadows and Yellow-breasted Chats and Prairie Warbler were singing. Indigo Buntings, White Ibis and Blue Grosbeak made their appearance, and a Virginia Rail called loudly from the marsh grasses.
