Despite a light but persistent drizzle, interesting birds showed up for the walk this morning. Though it is mid-winter, a Great Egret made a brief appearance at Lily Lake and a Gray Catbird and a Baltimore Oriole fed at feeders along our route while a female Purple Finch perched on a roof. This flock of Cedar Waxwings was perched at the entrance to the State Park when we left it for our walk about town and was still there when we returned more than an hour later!
