Intrepid birders showed up for this morning’s walk at Cox Hall Creek WMA. Though the wind and rain never let up, we saw a few American Redstarts, some of the resident birds and a couple of box turtles as we traveled the more tree-protected trails. Eventually we decided to check the nearby airport for shorebirds looking for higher ground, as is often the case during periods of flooding, but none were to be found. It was a shared experience to remember!
