Spring Break Outside! Session A
Nature Center of Cape May 1600 Delaware Avenue, Cape May, NJ, United StatesEscape the mundane and embrace the mud! We may be on spring break, but nature is hard at work. Flowers are starting to bloom; insects are starting to buzz, and birds are migrating north. Each day will be filled with adventure as we welcome signs of spring through hands-on exploration, creative projects, and all-around fun! DETAILS: This is a Monday/Wednesday/Friday drop-off program for children in grades 1-5. Session A: April 11th, 13th and 15th: 9:00am to 12:00pm Pre-registration is required. COST: Single Day: $35 (member); $40 (non-member), All 3 Days: $90 (member); $105 (non-member) NEW JERSEY AUDUBON'S PROGRAM GUIDELINES: All NJ counties are considered medium to low COVID-19 community levels. New Jersey Audubon highly recommends that anyone who is not fully vaccinated, wants additional protection, or comes from a higher community level area should consider wearing a mask and social distancing, especially indoors. Please do not come to a program if you are sick, have a sick family member or have reason to believe you may have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus. Harbor Safari
Nature Center of Cape May 1600 Delaware Avenue, Cape May, NJ, United StatesHelp pull a seine net through the Cape May Harbor to see first-hand what creatures inhabit the waters. Encounter an incredible diversity of marine life as you help pull a twenty-foot seine net through the shallows of Cape May Harbor. You will learn about the ecology of our coastal waters, and about the fascinating and ancient Horseshoe Crab. A great family outing! Pre-registration is required COST: $12 adults, $6 children ages 3-12, children under 3 free. Limited to groups of up to 20 participants during this time. Children may not participate without an adult. Contact us at 609.427.3045 for private group tours and rates. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Meet 5-10 minutes prior to your program time at the picnic tables in front of the Trucksess Welcome Center at 1600 Delaware Avenue. We may walk up to 1.5 miles, over generally level, sometimes muddy or sandy terrain. Some trips involve walks over rocky and sandy area. Please bring necessary footwear, sunscreen, bug spray, water bottle, and other belongings with you that you may need. Beachcombing the Cove
Sunset Pavilion 62 Beach Avenue, Cape May, NJ, United StatesWalk the Cove with a naturalist to discover the gifts the sea leaves behind at the water's edge. Explore one of the area’s ever-changing coastal habitats — the beach, ocean, and dunes of Cape May’s “The Cove” beach. We’ll search the shallows, comb the shoreline for treasures, and walk along the dunes in search of wildlife. Nighttime on the Beach

Learn about ghost crab habitat, how they move, and what they eat. Do you think you can catch one? Discover what other creatures are on the beach at night. Cape Island Ocean Festival
Nature Center of Cape May 1600 Delaware Avenue, Cape May, NJ, United StatesThis exciting celebration of the sea includes fun educational activities focused on the beauty and importance of the ocean and how we can all be good stewards of the sea. Festivities will include Harbor Safaris and Horseshoe Crab Labs, creative activities with various local non-profit organizations, short films and lectures, Ocean Friendly food trucks, and a selection of carefully curated local artists selling their ocean themed work. The festival will also include a Paddle and Pedal for a Purpose (a kayak and bike tour of cape island), an ocean-themed yoga practice, and a beach clean-up.
