Atkinson began her career as a professional illustrator, creating concept-driven imagery for book covers and editorial publications, where she became known for translating complex ideas into compelling visual narratives. She later transitioned to fine art, working primarily in oil, balancing subtle storytelling with expressive, painterly techniques. Her work has been recognized by Communication Arts, the Society of Illustrators, the Hispanic Creative Awards, and Print Design Annual. In 2026, she was selected for juried exhibitions including Visions: AAPL at the Carriage Barn Arts Center, the James Library & Center for the Arts 7th Annual Spring Show, and the Jackson's Art Prize 2026 Extended Long List. Back Bay Birding by Boat on the Osprey

The Osprey is a 37' pontoon boat that has a comfortable enclosed cabin with large viewing windows, a front deck with a railing, and a restroom on board. Non-motorized wheelchair accessible. We'll explore the nature trail and feeding stations at our Northwood Center and enjoy lingering waterfowl and migrant songbirds along Lake Lily. Along with spotting migrant and resident species an emphasis will be placed on learning how to identify song and look for identifying field marks. Shorebirds on the Bay
FeaturedJoin Dave and Lynn Pollard and CMBO Naturalists on this special trip to the Delaware Bayshore beaches! This is the best time of year for migrating shorebirds. Red Knots, Ruddy Turnstones, and many more birds are stopping over to feed on Horseshoe Crab eggs before heading to the high Arctic to breed. We'll visit several protected shorebird hotspots in our search for shorebirds and Horseshoe Crabs in action! We do not set a firm daily schedule in advance, leaving us flexible to maximize birding opportunities, taking advantage of weather conditions, tides, and recent bird sightings. We may walk up to 1.5 miles, over generally level, sometimes muddy or sandy terrain. MEETING LOCATION: The exact meeting location for this event will be announced closer to the start date. The leaders will base this location on where the most shorebirds are being seen along the Delaware Bayshore in Cape May County. Visit little-known hotspots in eastern Cumberland County and search for migrant and breeding birds, while also enjoying wildflowers, amphibians and more. Spring Birding at Hawk Rise Sanctuary

Join NJ Audubon Program Director Scott Barnes and associate naturalists for a leisurely walk at the sanctuary. We’ll look for woodpeckers, thrushes and warblers in the woods and wetland birds like herons, egrets, and Ospreys along the Rahway River. Bring binoculars and dress for the weather.
