Join us twice a month to hike/walk the grounds of Scherman Hoffman with our new Center Director, Jan Hudson. This is an opportunity to share your thoughts and ideas 1:1 or in a small group setting. Share your history, involvement, and love of the Sanctuary, give input and feedback regarding the center and get your thoughts and ideas heard. Get your steps in with Jan while learning more about Scherman Hoffman’s future plans! Walk subject to cancellation due to inclement weather. Pre-registration required. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Please make sure to wear appropriate hiking footwear. We maybe traversing rocky or uneven ground. This walk is intended for adults and older children, This walk is a social, networking event and not educational in nature. Park in the second upper parking lot and meet outside of the red door. CANCELLATION: NJ Audubon’s programs require a minimum number of registrants to run. If we cancel, due to lack of participation, severe weather, or unforeseen circumstances, all participants will be notified as soon as possible and are eligible for a full refund. Participants may cancel without penalty if greater than 48 hours in advance. Enjoy a quiet morning here at the Sanctuary walking the trails with an NJ Audubon staff or Associate Naturalist. These walks are informal and informative: birds, trees, tracks, wildflowers, reptiles, and amphibians are a few of nature’s wonders waiting for us to discover. The walks are cancelled if there is snow, rain, or weather warnings. Pre-registration required. Registration required by 4:00 PM the day before the walk. COST: Free for members, $5 nonmembers. Join a Lorrimer Sanctuary Teacher Naturalist for a guided nature walk through our forest. Topics vary by session. Walk on the wild side with Lorrimer this fall as we check out our forest throughout the season. Join our Teacher Naturalist, Mr. Mike for four unique experiences at Lorrimer Sanctuary as the forest transforms throughout fall and into winter. Come for one class or come for them all. This is an all-ages program so bring your curiosity and dress appropriately, this program takes place entirely outdoors. COST: $8 members / $10 nonmembers SCHEDULE AND TOPICS: October 1st: Native/Invasive Plant ID Walk October 22nd: Fall Plant Walk November 5th: Fall Plant Walk December 2nd: Winter Tree ID Walk IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Dress appropriately for the weather.
